Botanix Master Plan Engagement

An award winning, multi-phase master plan process that sought to create a place for community, with community.

In 2021, Fiteni began the master plan process for the Botanix site in Wellington Point. Fourfold Studio; as part of a multi-disciplinary team with Aspect Studios, Arkhefield and Urban Enquiry, facilitated a highly comprehensive engagement process seeking to ensure that the master plan directly reflected the wants and needs of the local community.

Prior to engaging on the the future of the Botanix site, preliminary research into the housing needs of the local community was conducted through Redlands Coast, The Future of Home. Outcomes from this process helped shape decisions made for the master plan.

Client: Fiteni

Engagement for the Botanix master plan occurred in two stages.

The highly collaborative process undertaken has led to responsive and highly supported master plan that reflects the passionate local community.

First, community ideas for the site were collected via online activities, youth engagement with local schools and an on-site event ‘Botanix Re-imagined‘. Insights gathered through the first stage were used to create the draft master plan, which was presented for community feedback during the second stage. This included further online engagement and another on-site event ‘Botanix Revibed’ where community were able to discuss the master plan with the design team.

The highly collaborative process undertaken has led to responsive and highly supported master plan that reflects the passionate local community.
